Smith wasn’t the only Northwest to see scores in the upper ranks. Classmate Natalie Feaser scored a 30, while junior Garrett Weaver had a 34.

Northwest officials admit Smith, Feaser and Weaver are go-getters who know the importance of high test scores and hard work. And they believe the trio, as well as other Northwest students, have seen jumps in their scores after taking the test prep-course PrepFactory.
The school began offering the free class to juniors last year when the state mandated all juniors take the ACT test. Across Ohio, the test is administered in schools in March at no cost to the student.
Principal Larry Tausch uses the class as a tool to make sure students have the best chance to do well on the ACT exam.
For each section of the SAT and ACT, PrepFactory guides students through strategy, quizzes and practice sets.
Boggs said PrepFactory offers students an assessment of their skills and gears lessons during the 14-week instruction period toward their strengths and weaknesses. It also allows for instructors to provide specific assignments for students.
